Our Story ....
In 2020, the government began forcing churches to stop holding public services, labeling them as “unessential,” and surprisingly, many churches complied without even raising a concern. For many months, “church” for many had become little more than a Zoom video of a song and a sermon. There were no public prayer meetings, no in-person fellowship, no public gatherings of believers—it was a dark moment for our nation and our churches.
It was in this period of history that Liberty Church was born—formed by a group of believers from several church backgrounds who had firmly decided that if churches would not reopen their doors, then they would open their homes to the gospel of Jesus Christ.
The first Liberty Church services were held in several homes and backyards, which began filling up with people longing for in-person Christian fellowship. These gatherings continued to grow until an opportunity opened to hold services in a local office building in Lexington, MA.
In March of 2023, we entered a new chapter as we began holding Sunday worship services in the Minuteman Technical High School theater. Then, in November of 2025, God opened the door for us to move into our beautiful new church home located at 7 Clematis Road in Lexington.
How fitting that in the town of Lexington, Massachusetts—a place where ministers of the gospel were instrumental in inspiring the people of Massachusetts, and eventually much of the world, to stand for liberty—that a church named Liberty Church Lexington would be born!
We look forward to meeting and worshiping with you—in person—at our next Sunday gathering!
